Kanye West: 808s & Heartbreak

So i picked up the new Kanye this morning, and I have mixed emotions about it. Since as long as I could remember, I have always been a fan of Kanye's music. He has never ceased to amaze me with the music he brings to his listeners. This year, it is a bit different, and kind of not. Like i said, I have mixed emotions about the new album. At first I was thinking, pretty much half the album has been leaked to the general public, why still release an album when most people have downloaded half the cd. Then I thought, what if its a teaser for something better to come in the future. I don't know. The reason why I have mixed emotions about the album is this. Kanye always comes hard with good album production as well as lyrics and his delivery. His approach with this album is different. Now don't get me wrong, I most definately respect the artistic approach he has taken, it takes some balls to switch up your style a bit, but it is good in its own way. From what we see and hear within the media, Kanye is going through a tough time, and in a nutshell, he is a bit emo. Being an artist that he is, his music is the median in which he can express himself with, which brings me to my conclusion. The reason why I am back and forth on wether or not I like the album, is because it is something that I am not used to. It is not the Kanye that I have grown to love, its not the Kanye that did College Dropout, but nonetheless, it is still Kanye. I will always be a fan. Common took a risk with Electric Circus and came back with BE, in which that album was complete fire! I know Kanye will do the same thing. He is going through an emotional time in his life, let him express himself. Let him experiment. I would have to say, this album lets us into more of the emotional side of Kanye, and at the end of the day, he is still human. He hurts just like the rest of us. Kanye is still an innovator, and he is still a powerhouse in the music today. Respect. Cop the album.

Agree to disagree?? Let us know what you think. - V

Lazy Sunday, re created on a monday.

A day off from my regular 9- 5, finally. So as you may all know, or not know, the clothing brand is slowly and definately moving along successfully. Although we are not making quick and heavy moves to push the brand out, we are still making moves that is significant to our success. A lot of time and passion is put into this project, and to rush it out to the public just to get the name out there is not the approach Chino and I want to take. This is a brand for the people, brought to you from us, and out of respect to those already established and who have already paved the way before us, it wouldnt do justice to what the culture and what Stat Fresh represents to push out a sloppy line. So in the meantime, as we keep you on the edge of your seats wondering what the line even looks like, not to mention when it is going to drop, we will continue to network, and network hard, and to this very minute, it is looking very promising. So while we are hard at work, we will keep you updated with the " Fresh Report." Comment us, email us, we want to hear from you too. Also, Happy Birthday again to one of the members of the Stat Fresh fam, Brian L. Fresh is what YOU make it. Love and respect to all. - V
